About Us
The South Indian Booksellers and Publishers Association was started 41 years ago by the efforts of Mr. Mathew of B.I. Publications, along with a few publishers and booksellers as its members. With the aim of meeting the needs of book lovers, publishing more books, and creating awareness to promote reading, they formed a federation on 24.08.1976.
The federation initially launched the Chennai Book Fair on a small scale with a few members at Madrasa-i-Azam Higher Secondary School on Anna Salai.
Our Portfolio
For the next 28 years, it was successfully conducted in the premises of Quaid-E-Millath Government College for Women, located in the same campus. Following the tremendous response it received, publishers and booksellers who publish books in Indian languages—especially Tamil and other South Indian languages—joined the federation as members.
